Maun2Maun

Maun2Maun was a children’s eye-testing outreach on a much bigger scale.

Four people set out as a team and returned as friends.

We screened 2,300 children across 12 schools, reaching communities spread far across the region.

We circumnavigated the Okavango Delta in purpose-built rigs.

My trusted Defender 2.4 and Karl’s Nissan Patrol carried us through it all.

iKamper tents, relentless bugs, and long distances on roads never designed for cars tested us daily.

The mission stayed clear: screen children’s eyes, regardless of terrain, fatigue, or discomfort.

We were also blessed to screen children from Koi San communities.

An experience I will never forget.

Working alongside Desert & Delta, Wilderness Safaris, Great Plains, and Natural Selection made this possible.

Their support laid the foundation for partnerships I still rely on today.

The 12 schools were filled with remarkable children, and the hope remains that clear vision continues to support their education and future long after we drove away.
